Scott Hanselman builds an Embodied Social Proxy using Office Communicator SDK and Exchange Web Services
Scott remotely works @ Microsoft. To give himself a physical presence on campus, he’s used some off-the-shelf hardware nad the UC platform SDKs to build himself a physical proxy with integrated calendar via Exchange Web Services and presence/click-to-call using the OC SDK. Not only a fun/cool science project, but a great example of how software based communications can enable some really cool scenarios via a dev platform
