Icons for the Designer

We have already seen how to have icons for the toolbox items. However, unfortunately, it is not the same way for the icons on the designer surface. Good news though, it is not that difficult.

LookingGlass – Listening to citizens and acting on social media

LookingGlass is a new technology that Microsoft has developed to make Social Media data (twitter, blogs, Flickr, YouTube, etc.) useful to organisations and to make those conversations happening out on the internet actionable and measurable.  As the social media phenomena snowballs, it will be increasingly valuable to Government to listen to and to make proactive use of this information as a way to measure sentiment about policies and initiatives, forge insights about citizens and better target public services.  We all hear about how social networks are driving more traffic so it is useful to understand how this environment is changing and evolving to get better traction with public service digital marketing efforts.

Visual Studio versions used by each release of BizTalk

At the time to write this post the newest release of  BizTalk was 2009 R2 Notes: There is no supportability with Visual Studio 2008 , it must be on SP1 (x)   BizTalk 2009 R2 with Visual Studio 2008 SP1 if using developer tools with BizTalk 2009 R2 then you should use VS2010 Customers can still install / upgrade to BizTalk 2009 R2 from BTS 2009 and 2006 R2, as long as they don’t have and want developer tools. If using VS2010 you will get the new mapper  with BTS 2009 R2

Message Publishing throttling state = 6 (spool table and tracking tables size cases)

“Host message queue size, the spool table size or the tracking table size exceed the specified threshold” As it is stated on  “ How BizTalk Server Implements Host Throttling ”  http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa559893(BTS.10).aspx , message Publishing throttling state = 6 could be raised due to the following reasons (one or all of them) The SQL Agent jobs used by BizTalk Server to maintain the BizTalk Server databases not running or are running slowly. Down-stream components are not processing messages from the in-memory queue in a timely manner.

Invalid object name ‘BizTalkDTADb.dbo.Tracking_Parts1′

I have been in a customer recently that had this rare alert in the SQL Server Log while running the TrackedMessages_Copy_BizTalkMsgBoxDb job (never seen before) “Executed as user: USERNAME . Invalid object name ‘BizTalkDTADb.dbo.Tracking_Parts1′ . [SQLSTATE 42S02] (Error 208).  The step failed.” At first glance i thought it was a security issue concerning the SQL Server Agent account rights within the database but it was not the case, since the SQL Server agent was well configured and has access to all databases in the instance

Live Meeting (Webinar): Microsoft Exchange 2010 on Friday February 5th

The recent ‘snow events’ have demonstrated the value of using Unified Communications to keep organisations running and people productive while there is mayhem on all forms of transport. I am not forecasting any more significant disruption imminently with more snow falls.   I’ll leave weather forecasting to the Met Office.
