Sync framework might fail to sync data

Database sync might not work if we copy the same database file to all the clients after provisioning it. Recently I came across a very interesting Sync framework issue. The customer had two mobile clients connected to the server .

Project Time Management (PTM) for Ax 2009

We had a couple of questions from partners if the PTM is supported with Ax2009 RTM or Ax2009 SP1. The answer is both.

New Overview for all TFS Migration / Integration Tools

I assume most of our major enterprise customers are not all-Microsoft shops and/or are not running all-MS tools. Our goal is to make developers successful with the very best tools, not to lock them all to our tools. (Of course I want our tools to be the very best, :)   but it’s important to meet customers where they are and give them flexibility.) Most large enterprise customers ask, “can I get some help migrating my existing tool X to TFS?” Another very common one is “I have another branch/department/……( read more )

Maximizing success delivering Microsoft Dynamics

Companies buying software want partners they can trust, especially in today’s economic climate. Microsoft partners that follow a structured methodology to sell, deliver, and optimize Microsoft Dynamics solutions can reduce their own cost and risk, focus on core competencies, and ultimately increase profits and customer satisfaction. http://nucleusresearch.com/research/notes-and-reports/guidebook-maximizing-success-delivering-microsoft-dynamics/ Phil Newman

Bye-Bye “Geneva”

Dedicated Support Engineering

A Dedicated Support Engineer (DSE) is essentially a ‘go to’ technical resource for a single Premier customer. In my case, I work with my customer on a dedicated basis helping them on projects, creating custom tools, providing them with customized training, and also helping to troubleshoot problems that come up. If you are interested in having your own dedicated engineer that will be your Microsoft ‘go to’ resource, DSE just may be the right choice for you

Silverlight and Bing Maps Used at Grubb & Ellis

Today is a time in history where there are more economic factors disrupting the real estate market and operations than ever before. To mitigate this trend and ensure real estate and financial professionals have all the information necessary to make critical decisions, more and more data is being provided to help improve business intelligence. However, this resulted in creating mountains of charts, graphs and documents that need to be reviewed from multiple systems, in order to present a clear perspective of assets, locations, and their operations.

Common WWSAPI errors: wrong property value size

WWSAPI properties are designed to control the behavior of the WWSAPI objects like service proxy, channel, XML reader/writer, etc. Each property has a property id, an associated value type, a target object and allowed actions. All property structures have the same set of fields: a property id, a pointer to the value buffer and the size of the buffer.

The Ultimate Answer…

While 42 is generally accepted as the answer to life, the universe, and everything, it doesn’t really help when you type it into PowerShell. That’s why we’ve launched a brand new service for customers to get together, post questions, search through issues that other customers are having and check on the status of the service

Filter Manager Concepts: Part 4 – FLT_INSTANCE

The next logical structure in the hierarchy is the FLT_INSTANCE. An instance represents an attachment of a filter on a volume. Please note that any given filter may have more than one instance on a given volume, at different altitudes.
