CodeRetreat – Programmers Honing Their Craft Together

I participated in my first CodeRetreat in PHX recently.  I had way more fun than I expected to and it was a safe environment for me to learn new languages. I really liked getting to pair with skilled developers who travelled from as far away as Mexico to attend.

Teaching Kids Programming – Teaching Girls to code in Danish

Llewellyn and I spent last week at (snowy!) Microsoft Copenhagen , preparing to teach Danish DigiGirlz coding (see picture below).  Here’s what happened and what we learned. We were part of a very successful event.  100% of the participants said ‘ I would like to attend another DigiGirlz event’ and also 100% personally told me that they would volunteer to proctor at a future DigiGirlz event

Heute hat Microsoft weitere Details zum kommenden “Browser Choice”-Update bekanntgegeben . Mit diesem Update kommt Microsoft dem Wunsch der Europäischen Kommission nach, die Wahl des Browsers in Windows Betriebssystemen noch einfacher zu machen. Aus diesem Grund wird demnächst per Windows Update ein Auswahlbildschirm ausgeliefert, mit dem Windows User ihren favorisierten Browser auswählen können
