Picking update via .Net Business Connector

We have received extensive feedback on previous blog postings about the outbound processes within Inventory management in Microsoft Dynamics AX. Many readers have requested information on how to interact with Microsoft Dynamics AX via .NET Business Connector to create picking operations. With this technical posting we will try to demonstrate how easy it is to code a terminal solution in C# .NET and call simple picking update methods in Microsoft Dynamics AX.

MSDTC transaction statistics show a large number of aggregated “Unknown” and “Total” transactions when viewed from a remote machine

Take the scenario whereby MSDTC is configured on Server A and allows remote administration. This means on server B you will be able to add Server A as a remote machine within the component services management snap-in. Once added you will be able to make administrative changes to the MSDTC on Server A from Server B, however it also means that you will be able to view the transaction lists and statistics for the MSDTC on Server A from Server B

Office 2010 and how it can help you build powerful solutions…

There will be more details over the coming months on what’s coming in Office 2010, and the power it brings to developers. I’m particularly excited to start talking about the ways in which you can combine the power of the rich clients with server side technologies to build solutions that no longer just target a specific individual using a specific application, but instead expand out to the workgroup, and all the content they are leveraging to accomplish their goals.

The best feature of Windows 7

I know this isn’t specifically educational, but I just feel the need to share. Having been using Windows 7 for a few weeks, the one feature that just knocks my socks off (and seems so obvious in hindsight) is the way that I can easily split my screen to show two different programmes at the same time. Basically, you grab the title bar of the window – like this: And then move it over to the left hand or right hand side of the screen.

DII Event London – Home Safe

I am back in the US and arrived safely at home yesterday late in the afternoon. This was truly a great event; so good, in fact, that it was a tough decision for some people as to whether we should keep talking or go to dinner (of course, dinner won)
