Hi, I have recently made the decision to start on a new adventure outside Microsoft. With me moving out of Microsoft, I will no longer have access to manage this blog. For the past couple of years I have been cross posting all my posts on my personal blog at http://maheshwar.net/blog and moving forward that will be my primary blog.

Aside from all of the fun reasons why I got a Kinect , one of the things I was really interested in was using it as an exercise device. With 2 little kids and a hectic job, I’m finding it harder and harder to get to the gym

It’s been an amazing 9 1/2 years working with Microsoft, especially the last three in Microsoft Ireland.  I have met and worked with incredible people and built interesting and fun projects.  So it was after a lot of consideration that I have decided to move on and try something completely new. I’m not sure what it is yet, but rest assured it will be doing the things I love: designing and building cutting-edge web and mobile technology.

I thought it would be fun to share what it was like my first week making the transition from Redmond to Silicon Valley in my new role. And more importantly, I thought it would be fun to explain publicly to my uncle back in Mississippi that my job isn’t to pray for the developers of the world.

I remember this test very well. It was one of the first MS CRM certificate rounds and the questions where harder to understand than the test itself… Time goes fast when you have fun, right J

Man, it’s just crazy how fast a month can go.  I was blogging furiously all December about our performance efforts and progress and then a couple of days before Christmas I went “offline” and haven’t made it back until now .  It has been just crazy.  Other than a few days off between Christmas and the new year, I’ve literally been involved in performance design discussions, reviews and evaluations for hours every day.

As the year closes I look back and see that my blogging really dropped off this past year.  I intend to try to blog more over this upcoming year.  My position at work has changed from a lead to a manager and that gives me a whole new perspective on things and a lot of new ideas to blog about.  I hope your 2009 went well and that 2010 goes even better.  For those who are hurting in this bad economy, hang in there.  The sun always rises even if the night is long.  Don’t give up improving your skills.  It will pay off in the long term.

A few days ago a cousin of mine posted some pictures that I haven’t seen in years. They really got me thinking. The first one was a picture of my grandfather from around Christmas 1953 or so, they year “the twins” were born

I was away for a while now in the wilderness of the Himalayas. I was out covering Leh, Ladakh and Kashmir by road (alas, not biking which I badly missed). Ladakh is one of those places one should not miss and that too its journey via road.

I know it’s cliché to blog about blogging, but I’d like to take this opportunity to explain why there has been such a lull. In short, I’ve been busy.   Finished Programming F# As you might have heard, I was working on a book

In a matter of days it will be the 40th anniversay of Apollo 11 landing on the moon, a seminal moment for humanity, at least as far as I am concerned.

I am very passionate about Blend, there’s no question there. But, I’m also a gamer…
