Making Developing Windows Azure Applications Easier–One Resource At A Time

Picture this – it’s time to sit down and start architecting your new application.  You’re going to use the latest and the greatest – you’re going to go Cloud.  Cloud – as in Windows Azure – just to make sure!  What’s the first thing you think of? Design Patterns, of course.   To start, you’ll need patterns for: Compute Storage Communications Security Network Relational Data That’s where Windows Azure MVP David Pallmann’s Azure Design Patterns site comes in handy – it covers them all (and it’s made with Silverlight ).  Why scour the abyss of information online when you can go to one place and see it all, neatly organized in a way that’s easy to navigate?

RunningJobContext.IsClientConnected

I’ve seen a few people get confused over what this error message in the Reporting Services log file indicates. This message is generated when the Reporting Services web server detects that an HTTP request has experienced a remote disconnect.  In practice, this means that we queried the property HttpResponse.IsClientConnected and it returned false. So how does this work exactly, and are all requests subject to this kind of check?

Windows Client TechCenter updated

Ages ago i pointed out some great resources on the Windows Client Tech Center over on TechNet and I have heard from Chriskil that they have been doing some spring cleaning on the site with changes including: More featured videos Removal of sub-navigation elements (underneath the tabs) to pull the content up on the page and de-clutter your choices For the Springboard pages, we introduced a new navigation element with buttons that takes up less space and just looks nicer than the text links we had before We removed useless, bandwidth hogging-graphics :-) Standardized icon application to allow for content type identification at a glance Implemented OMPL feeds in some places for fresher content Standardized the look and feel of the pages across the different product version pages for Windows XP , Windows Vista and Windows 7 So Worth Checking out, as I have found these resources very good in the past.
