Silverlight Installation Experience whitepaper and sample code released

The Silverlight project templates in Visual Studio and other tools (such as Expression Blend) provide a default experience for users who do not have Silverlight installed. However, the current default experience is not very enticing: Unless you modify the default experience, this image appears in place of your application for all users who do not have Silverlight installed.

Yahoo for iPhone Released: Worthwhile Alternative to Google?

With all the attention in the arena of iPhone applications being fixed squarely on Skype for the past few days, it almost escaped my view that Yahoo has finally released their free Yahoo Mobile app , which we reported on in February. Announcing Microsoft Web Platform

Available now is a new preview release of .NET RIA Services , technology which brings the ASP.Net platform together with the Silverlight platform and the Web Platform Installer 2.0 Beta , a tool that simplifies the installation and maintenance of Microsoft’s web stack as well as other free components. This release lets users download both PHP and the final release of ASP.NET MVC 1.0. It’s available on on this page alongside the final version of the 1.0 release.
